Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did current events. The clock is ticking people, have you done two THIS TERM?
• Is your vocabulary in your duotang?
• Clarified & worked on our Mission to Mars Assignments. This assignment is due on WEDNESDAY.
• Reviewed what happens when we heat something. What happens to the volume? What is a bimetallic strip? How does it work? Where might you find one?
• Worked on our Give it a Try Activity, sia7 p239. What would you do? Your comic & explanation are due on WEDNESDAY. You had class time to work on it. If you used your class time efficiently you might even be done!
• Do sia7 p237 ayl #1-5. Due WEDNESDAY.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did Current Events?
• Put all of our vocabulary, including our word searches in our vocabulary duotangs.
• Did a SUPRISE quiz. Don't you just love surprises?
  Handed in our convection conduction radiation posters
• Read sia7 p222-234
• Worked on sia7 p235 Mission to Mars. How did you do? How creative were you?
• This is due next class, I can't wait to see what you have come up with!

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did current events.
• Got a vocabulary word search for sections 3 & 4.
• I will start marking your vocabulary duotangs the first week of June.
• Handed in our short stories.
• As a class we did sia7 p202 #1. What is the difference between heat & temperature? Can you explain it?
• We talked about STATES of MATTER & how to CHANGE states of matter. What do we have to add or take away?
• Did a smart board activity about changes in state.
• Talked about transfer of heat. Read sia7 p211 & 213 as a class.
• Do sia7 p 189 - the mind map question
• Worked on sia7 p221 #1-5. It is due next class. Your mini-poster should be something that helps YOU understand the concepts of convection, conduction & radiation...oh my!

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did Current Events. The end is near for current events.
• Got & worked on a vocabulary word search. Be sure to follow all of the DIRECTIONS. Your completed work should be in your duotan by MONDAY MAY 19, 2009
• As a class we read sia7 p176-178. What questions should you keep in mind about this unit?
• Looked at the DEVELOPMENT OF HEAT TECHNOLOGIES TIMELINE (sia7 p184).
• Did the give it a try activity sia7 p182. What will your short story be about? Your COMPLETE, EDITED, FINAL DRAFT of your short story is due MONDAY MAY 19, 2009.
• Looked at FIRE. Looked at how heat can affect certain things. You already know alot about this unit!!
• Wrote a journal entry about our trip to the ZOO! What did you learn? What was your favourite animal? WHY?
• We don't see each other again until NEXT TUESDAY!!!!! If you want to work ahead, do sia7 p188 #1-3. You MAY have to do some READING to help you with these questions!
• DUE TUESDAY MAY 19, 2009: Vocabulary, Short Story, & Journal Entry. All of these tasks should be started as you had class time to do so. Did you use this time wisely?
