Today in SCIENCE we:

• Had a current event open day......no body was ready. Are you up to date? You have a new schedule for current events. Highlight your name for the months of February & March so you know when your turn is & you are READY.
• Did vocabulary #27. Is your duotang where it should be?
• We watched Six Degrees That Could Change the World. How was it? What was it about?
• Reviewed our homework. Do you have any more questions?
• Started planning our inventions, had 10 minutes to brain storm with our group.
• A quiz is imminent.
• Homework: Read & UNDERSTAND sia7 p334-335, do sia7 p336 #1 & 2. Do you remember how to format your homework properly??

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did current events. Folks you need to be ready for your turn. There should be no reason for you to not be prepared, or to "forget".
• Did vocabulary #26. Is your duotang up to date? It should be.
• Handed in our summaries from Thursday. Did you get yours back? Why?
• Worked on designing a better back pack. What did your group come up with?
• Homework is to Read & UNDERSTAND sia7 p334-335, can you tell me what it is about in your own words?
• DO sia7 p334 #1&2.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did current events.
• Did vocabulary #25
• Handed in our SIGNED mark updates?
• Talked about what architects do.
• Read as a class sia7 p322. Did questions #1 & 2 as a journal entry.
• Read sia7 p324-325. You should summarize this information in not less than 4 sentences, not more than 10.
• How can we CHANGE structures to make them BETTER?
• FRIDAY JANUARY 23 at 130pm is the LAST time any work from term 2 will be accepted.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did vocabulary #24.
• Did Current Events. We are now working on TERM 3.
• Discussed use of class time for vocabulary. Where does your vocabulary duotang need to be at the end of EVERY class?
• Talked about the human body & the joints it has. What is the difference between a bone, a ligament, a tendon & a muscle?
• Talked about how to format our work properly so we can be PROUD to hand it in. NAME, CLASS, DATE, & A PROPER TITLE ARE MANDATORY!
• Did sia7 c&r p321 #1-3 for marks. We discussed these questions in class, & you had class time to complete it. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO HAND THIS IN.
• How did you use your class time today?
• Homework: sia7 p323 ayl #1-5
• Got our marks updates today. Please remember to fill out the self-evaluation, go over your results with your parents, and bring it back to me SIGNED on Thursday.

Friday January 23rd at 130pm is the ABSOLUTE LAST time any work from term 2 will be accepted.

Remember that if you leave it this long to submit your work you are gambling....will it get marked on time or won't it??

The SOONER you hand it in, the better your chances of having your work marked & counted towards your grade!

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did current events. NICE WORK!
• Did vocabulary #23 - is your vocabulary duotang up to date? Is it handed in?
• Got lots of work back. Please remember to bring your structures and forces quizes to class with you on Tuesday, we will review them.
• Watched the video about inventions. We will be starting this project next week.
• Worked on p 312 #3. What new terms did you learn? What do you think about building a dam?
• Homework: Read & UNDERSTAND sia7 p319-321 & THINK about what you might like to construct.

• Did Current Events - GREAT WORK!
• There was a list of names on the board of students who still need to complete one or more current events for this term. Was your name on this list? Have you talked to me about making up this work?
• Had a quick quiz review!
• Did a quiz. How did it go?
• Wrote a quiz reflection & put it in our journal.
• Read sia7 p313-318, omit p316-317.
• Homework: do sia7 c&r p318 #1 & 3.
• Watched a video about the invention project we will start next week. What problem do you think you'll solve?

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did Current Events. Sort of. You have a schedule. It is UP TO YOU to make sure you are ready.
• Did vocabulary #21. Your duotang should be in the classroom.
• Did a journal entry about our Egg Activity that we did last week. You should have included: a title, purpose/question, the hypothesis we had, method/steps, observations/what we saw, analysis/why & how it happened, conclusion.
• We READ AS A CLASS sia7 p308-310. Do you understand what we read?
• We made two lists: one about MATERIALS, the other about FASTENERS. What are they? You should have LOTS of examples of each.
• Homework: sia7 p310 #1 & 2. DUE WEDNESDAY.
• POP QUIZ THIS WEEK.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did Current Events. Have you completed TWO for Term 2?
• Wrote a journal entry about our bridge building that we did before winter break.
• Used straws to build strong shapes. What is the strongest shape?
• READ, UNDERSTOOD, and took notes on sia7 p300-306.
• What does TSQ4R stand for?
• What are the main types of structural components?
• We tested different bridge designs and how well they can hold a load (paper).
• Stacked a bunch of books on top of some eggs. How many books? Why were the eggs able to hold them?
• Homework: DO sia7 p306 c&r #1-2, sia7 p307 ayl #1-6. That works out to TWO (2) questions per day!
• When completing your work, remember those key points on how to prevent marking rage.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did current events. Nice work People! I am impressed.
• Remember you should have AT LEAST TWO current events done for this term.
• Reviewed some dates: when does term 2 end?
• Talked about our title pages - they are due on THURSDAY.
• Got some work back. What are the sources of a very serious condition known as "marking rage"?
• If I was you, I would review sections 1, 2, & 3 of our structures & forces unit. There may be a pop quiz on Thursday.
